The Distortion Measurement of the Steel Dies for Shield Segment in Tunneling
The common axis of the rings used in Beijing metro tunneling toward the airport deviates from the desired position and water seeps along the gap between two rings. The reason of which is mainly because of the geometric distortion of the steel dies after it is overused in manufacturing the ring segments. A laser tracker named LTS1100 from API Ltd. is selected to measure its distortion. The calculating method of the dies form & position error is discussed, based on which, the error of angles between every two neighbor planes, the error of parallel degree of the two side planes, the errors of perpendicular degree of each side plane to the axis of the cylinder, and the flatness of all four planes are calculated respectively. The calculation result indicates that the angle errors and perpendicular degree errors are the main reason for the axis deviation and the water seeping. The calculation can also be used for the repair guiding of the dies.
