Real-time Testing System for UAV Based on Hardware in the Loop Simulation

A real-time testing system for the flight control system of UAV is discussed in this paper, on the theory of hardware in the loop simulation. In the testing system, the actual flight hardware, the simulation and testing device, the management PC are comprised into a simulation loop. A simulation and testing device based on PC/104 hardware architecture is developed for building up the simulation environment. The real-time testing system has been successfully employed to verify the flight control system of UAV. The system may offer improved capabilities for indicating and eliminating the problems in the hardware and software of flight control system, measuring, analyzing and evaluating the control law and the flight performance of UAV.
