Study on the Optical Fiber Methane Gas Sensor
Based on discussing factors that influence the sensitivity of detecting system in detail, a method for methane gas sensing using second-harmonic technique and ring-down technique is demonstrated. A sensitivity of 70 ppb/m has been achieved with this method. The concentration of other gas in the atmosphere and industry pollution can be gained by using the same method just changing light source and optical apparatus corresponding to the target gas.
