Experimental Research on New Magnetostrictive Longitudinal Guided Wave Transducer
One new type magnetostrictive longitudinal guided wave transducer, in which the socket and compressed wire array are integrated rationally to act as one long wire enlacing the pipeline, is designed. The fundamental of magnetostrictive longitudinal guided wave transducer is explained here. The influence to signal detection from the parameters of the transducer is analyzed qualitative. It can be installed on the on-line pipe conveniently. The new transducer is employed to detect pipeline with three defects experimentally, the signal which detected by the new transducer is similar to the one which gained by the traditional one. The signals of different diametric defects are also detected clearly.
