The Redundancy Design of Position Sensor for Switched Reluctance Drive
Position sensor is an important part of the Switched reluctance drive, the signal from which can determine the switching instants for proper control of speed. In this paper, the photosensitive position sensor is firstly introduced, then emphasizing on analyzing how to apply the redundancy design in hardware and software for the purpose of improving the reliability of the system. The hardware mainly involves the special fixing method for three sets of photosensitive position sensor and the disposal of their output logic. On the base of hardware design, the software control can insure the motor works well once there is malfunction in one set of photosensitive position sensor, a single or all. It has been approved that after adopting the redundancy design of hardware and software, the reliability of the system is greatly enhanced.
