A Novel Model of Sea Clutter with Heavy Tails
In order to model the non-Gaussian signature of sea clutter of radar with high resolution, a novel random variable constructed from a product of three independent random variables (two Rayleigh and a χ-distributed random variables) is proposed. The expression of pdf is derived by the Mellin transform method with the aid of the Meijer G-function. The clutter is called G-distributed clutter. Finally the comparison between the G-distributed and K-distributed variables is carried out, and the Markov diffusion processes are used to generate correlated random variables of G -distribution.
