Ridge Estimation and Generalized Ridge Estimation for Three Line Scanner CCD Imagery
As is well known that little angular field of view (AFOV) and long focal length with space borne line scanner CCD imagery will lead to strong relativity between exterior orientation elements (EPOs), which is also accompanied by non-robust of rigorous collinearity-based equation and ill-condition of normal equation. Based on relativity between the EPOs of line scanner imagery, this paper discusses ridge and generalized-ridge estimation to circumvent the problem arising from relativity. Furthermore, a pair of Ikonos stereo image and a set of synthetic satellite image are used for tests, with the purpose being to shed light on the different effect of these two kinds of methods and how various ridge parameters change the quality of normal-equation.
