Experimental Study on Cavitation Noise and Vibration of Liquid Jet Pump
This paper is concerned with the experimental study in view of noise and vibration in liquid jet pump. The B&K accelerometer and hydrophone were used to carry out the measurement on the cavitation noise and vibration at different part of jet pump under different operating modes. The measured results revealed that: (1) The primary source of cavitation noise in jet pump is monopole source and the effect of dipole source increases along with the augment of velocity and intensity of turbulence; (2) The intensity of the noise and vibration increase along with the development of cavitation; (3) The vibration in three orthogonal directions performs differently. The vibration in the plane perpendicular to the axial prevails over the vibration in axial direction.
