Research on Vibration and Oil Measurement in Fault Diagnosis of Gearboxes

Nowadays, oil analysis and vibration analysis are usually used independently, and can only find about 40 % of faults when used separately. If we can fuse the two wear information, more reliable diagnosis results will be obtained. In this paper, a gearbox will be running for about 500 hours and the lubricating oil and vibration signals will be collected. Then we will use the theory of information fusion to fuse oil analysis information and vibration analysis information of the gearbox. The results prove that the method based on information fusion was applicable and available in fault diagnosis of gearboxes.
