Application of Local Wave Method, ApEn and ANFIS in Fault Diagnosis for Rotating Machinery
This paper presents a new approach to machine health monitoring based on the Local Wave Method and the Approximate Entropy (ApEn). As the working condition of a machine system deteriorates, the number of frequency components contained in the fault vibration signal will be more than that in healthy signal, resulting in a decrease in its regularity and an increase in its corresponding ApEn value12. So ApEn with Local Wave Method are used in mechanical fault diagnosis. The result has shown that values of ApEn can effectively characterise the severity of structural defect with good computational efficiency. And the values of ApEn will be used as the input of ANFIS to classify and recognize the fault severity13.
