Study on Nondestructive Testing Technique of Twist Pitch of Artillery Body

Artillery bodys twist pitch is one of the most important static parameters, the detection of which is the key technology in the production of artillery body. The essential definition of twist pitch of artillery body is introduced at first, and then the computing formula of it is also calculated. Based on the characters of long artillery body, dark inside and nondestructive testing while the probe is difficult to place, barrel bore crawling device is adopted to deriving the optical grating bar and shaft angle encoder so as to measure the length and angle of twist, then calculating the twist pitch of artillery body by upper PC according to computing formula. Some key technologies of the testing are also shown.
