Study on Gyro Synchronous Hysteresis Motor Start-up/Stop-down Time
Statistics shows that the gyro synchronous hysteresis motor fails to start-up occupies a great proportion in failures of marine inertial navigation systems (INS). Failur in start-up is mainly due to the frequent stop-down/start-ups which generate wear chippings, and is a gradual process which can be monitored by measuring the minimum motor voltage required to start-up the rotor. The gyro motor faults will occur when the start-up time increase or the stop-down time decreases to a certain degree with the increase in INS operating time. It is important to obtains gyro motor start-up and stop- down time for diagnosing and forecasting gyro failures. A circuit model of the gyro synchron hysteresis motor is established, the algorithm and formulas of the gyro motor maximum start-up torque are presented, and the simulated experiments are carried out. Secondly, the parameters of gyro start-up current, gyro stop-down back emf,, and the noise generated during the process from gyro start-up, running to the stop down are monitored and measured. Theoretical analysis and experiment results show that the method is accurate and reliable, providing a way for diagnosing and forecasting gyro failures.
