A SOC Estimation Algorithm Based on Kalman Filter Technique of HEV Batteries
In order to estimate the state of charge(SOC) of battery pack in hybrid electric vehicleaccurately, and eliminate the accumulated error ofAmpere-hour method, a SOC estimation algorithmusing Kalman filter technique is developed. Firstthe equivalent circuit model of the battery pack isfounded, and then the dynamic state andmeasurement equations are established. Byprocessing the current and voltage data of thebattery pack collected from the real vehicle test, thealgorithm using Kalman filter technique canestimate the open circuit voltage of the battery packeffectively, and then SOC of the battery pack can becalculated. It indicates that the algorithm proposedhas much potential in the SOC estimation in HEVsthrough experiments.
