Diagnosis of Single Cylinder Misfire Using the Transient Speed Fluctuation of Crankshaft

Single cylinder misfire can be diagnosed at the low speed using transient speed fluctuation of crankshaft to analyze in the time domain, which cannot satisfy the requirement of the complication at the high speed. Single cylinder misfire can be diagnosed analyzing the frequency spectrum of rotating speed fluctuation at the low and high speed, but cannot determine which cylinder is misfired. Whether single cylinder is misfired or not and the position of misfire cylinder can be clearly determined using transient speed fluctuation of crankshaft to estimate IMEP(indicated mean effective pressure) and even the gas pressure inside the cylinder.
