Simulation and Test of the Electronic Controlled Hydraulic Power Steering System for Trucks and Buses

Electronic controlled hydraulic power steering (ECHPS) system can improve drivers road feeling because it has alterable steering-wheel effort characteristic which is adapted to vehicle speed. Based on the structure and principle of the proposed speed-sensitive ECHPS system, the simulation model was built by means of engineering system simulation and analysis software MSC.EASY5, which provides some important results for further discussion and design. A test bench was built to demonstrate that the ECHPS system can fulfill the demand of the steering system of trucks and buses
