Study on Plasma Spraywelding Heavy-thick and Wear-resistant Coatings

The mining machinery, especially wear-resistant liner of the mining non-ball grinder, work long time under the condition of wicked wear and their life is very short. The usual wear-resistant coating technology entirely cant satisfy the wear need of component. This paper applies the technology of plasma spraywelding wear-resistant coating. the Ni-based and Fe-based plasma spraywelding coating are mainly investigated from several aspects of the microstructure, analysis of component and phase, mensuration of coatings microhardness and wear test. The results show that it is practical to apply plasma spraywelding as the wear-resistant coatings technology. Applied Fe-based alloy system entirely suits the wear demand of mining machine. The plasma spraywelding coating structure is compact, heat-affected zone small, the dilute rate lower, deepness of molten pool small, no blowholes and oxides. The wear life which wear-resistant liner is made by plasma spraywelding is advised to about 15 times of one of common steel plate and about 4~8 times of one of wear-resistant cast iron and is 2~4 times of one of steel bonded carbide.
