The Target System Mounted on a Mobile Vehicle
This paper reports on the design of a moving electro-optical target system (MEOTS) for assessing targeting accuracy of ballistic and projectile velocity for a moving target. A novel based on array structure of six-light-screen targeting system was introduced, which mounted on a mobile vehicle and comprised of array of six light screens, data recorder, and wireless emitter-receiver. This computer- based system has shown the capability of precisely detecting simultaneously the impact position, the angle-of-arrival as well as the velocity of projectiles in real time. The parameters such as velocity, the flying direction, and coordinates of point of impact position were figured out by the time intervals and geometrical structure. The measurement result was transmitted to a base station in wireless. The apparatus designed in this paper could be mounted on different moving vehicle.
