A New Passive Ranging Method Based on IMM and Modified Guidance Law
Based on the Interactive Multiple Model (IMM) and the modified observability enhancing guidance law, we present a new passive ranging method in this paper. Stallards extended Kalman filter in MSC is used to avoid the nonlinear functions in the Cartesian coordinates. We use IMM to solve the limitation that the Stallards method only fits in with the non-maneuver targets. Adding range information got from above steps, we present an observability enhancing guidance law, which is useful for promoting observability throughout the whole missile guidance and reducing the miss distance at the endgame. Simulation results indicate that a significant improvement in interception performance can be expected.
