Velocity and Elevation Measuring Using Accelerator Based on Empirical Modal Decomposition
Aiming at the shortcoming of less precision in transforming measured acceleration signal to velocity or to elevation signal, a new method to measure the velocity and elevation was presented, i.e., to measure the acceleration signal by the accelerator first, transform the acceleration time series into frequency domain data by FFT, then transform the acceleration time series to velocity and elevation time series according to the spectrum relations among them. An empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based self-adaptive filter was proposed necessary to reduce the integral error. Simulation results of wave signal demonstrates the high precision of this method in acceleration integral transformation and indicates this method is effective for practical measurement of velocity and elevation.
