Orientation Experiment of MWCNTs and Nanostructure Assembly
An experiment to carry out the arrays orientation alignment of MWCNTs has been designed. The experiment included the gas power and solution container with a switch to adjust the solution flow. Experiments were found that the flow rates had a crucial impact on the orientation alignment. To improve the deposition of MWCNTs on the substrate (pristine silicon), the amino terminated self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) were utilized. Experiment showed that the substrate assembled with the amino terminated self-assembled monolayers preferred to adsorb the more MWCNTs than the pristine silicon. Finally the NEMS structures were constructed by combining the traditional silicon processes and the orientation method described above to place the MWCNTs onto the electrode structures.
