3-Dimensional CFD Simulation and Analysis with Different Combustion Models
Different combustion models are used to simulate the three-dimensional steady combustion process with CH4 as the fuel. The turbulent model of RNG ε κ- is used for the simulations. As for the combustion simulation, eddy-dissipation-concept (EDC) model, eddy break-up model (EBU ) and fractal model (FM) are used respectively. Corresponding experimental data from the literature are adopted for validation. The numerical results show that EDC model and FM model give similar results both for Steckler fire case and Can combustor case. Both EDC model and FM model give better performance than EBU model for Steckler fire case. FM shows a more promising fure development due to its consideration of the fine structures of the turbulent vortexes.
