Auto-control System for the Removal of H2S in Natural Gas by Membrane-base Absorption1

Membrane-base absorption is a new type1 separation technology combining membrane separation unit and chemical absorption unit. For the purpose of removal of sulfur from natural gas, an experiment platform was set up and an auto-control system based on MCGS configuration software was developed to ensure the equipments functioning normally, reduce the running cost and extend membrane life. The experimental flow and equipments of membrane -base absorption for removal of sulfur from natural gas and the requirements for the automatic control system were introduced. Hardware design, control method, process of configuring system, design and accomplishment of the auto-control system and tuning parameters of the system were described in detail. Meanwhile, functions and process of the control system when running was described. Running results showed that the auto-control system was reliable and meet the requirement of the experiment perfectly.
