Studies on Constant Power Mode for High Power Laser Diode (LD)
Based on the characteristics of the relationship between the LDs optical power output and the injection current, this paper describes the design of a kind of constant power control circuit for driving high power LD. The factors affecting the stability of LDs optical power output are analyzed. The drive circuit is capable of delivering up to 5A to a high power laser load. The experimental results show that the LDs optical output power short-term stability is below 0.015%, and this circuit is effective.
