The Application of Strap-down Inertial Navigation System (INS) on Self-propelled Gun

This paper studies the basic structure and the of inertial navigation system(INS), explores the basic operation principles of strap-down optical-fiber INS, expounds the system in the conditions with reference object or without reference object, expatiates on how to use optical-fiber gyro measuring and referring with initial course angle and calculating initial coordinates, the exact calculation of the range after reaching the destination and the deflection and coordinates between the destination and the gun, educes the coordinates of the position and informs the gun chief in time, and rapidly determines the firing data. Finally, we give an elementary research on the strength and weaknesses of strap-down INS.
