New Type Intelligent Device Used Rotation Speed Measuring With Low-Power Consumption
A new type of intelligent device used for rotation speed measuring will be introduced in this paper. The device is based on the technology of the low-power MCU of MSP430 series, and adopts pulse sensors. Thus, it can accurately measure the rotation speeds in a wide range. The device uses MSP430 MCU from TI Company as the main operational controller. Depending on the pulse capturing function of CCR (Capture/Compare Register) of MSP430 MCU, the device converts the pulses into accurate time. After data processing, rotation speed by instantaneousness, second and minute can be outputted. The device can output RS-232C signals and RS-485 signal and set the proportional coefficient related to sensors. In this paper, the workings of this device are explained. Experiments confirmed that the device is practical and successful, which can perform the functions designed previously.
