Direction-of-Arrival Estimation and Adaptive Beamforming of Wideband signal Using Frequency-Domain Processing Approaches
A new wideband direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation approache based on frequency-domain frequency-invariant beamformers(FDFIBs) is proposed. It is able to resolve correlated source signals and can be applicable to arrays arbitrary geometry without preliminary DOA estimate. The method of wideband adaptive beamforming based on DOA information is proposed. Beamformer of designed have constant mailobe and lower sidelobes. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed frequency-domain processing DOA estimator can provide better resolution at lower signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and lower root-mean-square error (RMSE) of the DOA estimate compared with the existing method and LMS algorithm based on DOA information converges faster than the conventional adaptive beamforming algorithm.
