A Smart Path Failure Detection Method for SCTP in Wireless Network

摘要：

SCTP is a general-purpose transport protocol for IP network data communication. It was published as RFC2960 by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) in October 2000. The SCTP multi-homing can support multi-path in association. However, the SCTP path failure detection is very simple in RFC2960, and cant effectively distinguish path condition (e.g. active or inactive) in wireless network. In this paper, we present a new and effective path failure detection method in wireless network. According to experiment results, the proposed method can effectively distinguish path condition and increase performance.
