Frequent Query Patterns Guided XML Caching and Materialization

摘要：

Query caching and view materialization are two possible approaches to improve the performance of XML management systems. Mining frequent query pattern is technique to discover the most frequently occurring query pattern trees from a large collection of XML queries. In this paper, we describe an efficient mining algorithm to discover the frequent query pattern trees from a large collection of XML queries. And then we examine how the frequent query patterns can be used to guide the view materialization and cache replacement.
