Evaluation of Intensive Rural Residential Land Use Based on C-D Production Function

Intensive rural residential land use is one of the hottest issues of the current land-use study and the study on rural residential potential is the most important. This paper aims at establishing the theoretical model for potential evaluation of intensive rural residential land use,which is the foundation for the full potential releasing. The value of rural residential land is not just to provide rural households living places, but also is reflected in the old-age security and the maintenance of social stability, and so on. Estimating the non-market value of rural residential land and bring it into input-output accounting system would deepen the cognition to the social function of rural residential land, which contributed more effectively to the intensive use of rural residential land. The contingent valuation method is the most effective way to estimate the non-market value of resource. The paper took Xiaonan District of Xiaogan City from Jianghan Plain as a case to use CVM to measure the non-market value of rural residential land, based on the willingness to pay of 280 farmers chose by the survey. Then it evaluated the potential of intensive rural residential land use using C-D production function model. At the end, some valuable conclusions were put forward based on the analysis aforementioned.
