APPLICATION OF SUBCRITICAL WATER TO WASTE BIOMASS UTILIZATION
We examined the applicability of subcritical water to the utilization of waste biomass. The first example was the combustion of livestock excrement in subcritical water at 650 o C and 15 Mpa. The livestock excrement was ncinerated and converted to carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen gas and thermal energy which can generate electricity. The second example was the production of hydrogen from waste biomass in subcritical water at 650-700 o C and 10MPa. 1.5-2 liter of hydrogen at 25 o C and 0.1MPa was produced from the garbage, livestock excrement and others. The cheap alkali catalyst was effective for dirty waste biomass.
