Pretreatment and Properties of Lignite by Mild Condition

Huo linhe and Xiao longtan lignite with high moisture content was carried out by mild condition (150 ~400 ℃). Physical and chemical properties have been investigated in detail using thermogravimetric, nitrogen adsorption and oxygen-functional group analysis. As a result, the oxygen-functional group content of two treated coals obviously decreased, Especially carboxyl, at 350 ℃,the removal rate of two treated coals were respectively 77.64%and 71.87%.In pyrolysis temperature range, the specific surface area of the two lignite all have the trend of first decreases and then increases. Furthermore, carbon content increased, oxygen content and volatile matter decreased, the calorific value obviously increased, showing that the coal rank somewhat raised.
