Antibacterial Performance of B. mori Silk Fabric Treated with Nano-ZnO

Development and research on antibacterial textile already have been a hotspot home and abroad. The inorganic nano-ZnO has attracted much attention for its novel antimicrobial application on the textile. In this paper, nano-ZnO dispersion solution was prepared using sodium polycrylate (PAAS) and sodium silicate as dispersants, OP-10 as emulsifier and KH- 570 as united agent. In the dispersed system, average granule diameter of the nano-ZnO was up to 53.16 nm. The silk fabrics treated with nano-ZnO had antibacterial performances, and their antibacterial rates reached 94.1% and 90.9% to E. coli and S. aureus, respectively.
