Development of the Various Thick Silk Reeling Machine
The authors developed the various thick silk reeling machine which could produce six kinds of silk by one reeling machine, that is, these are High bulk silk, Special flat silk, Combination silk yarn of high bulk silk and special flat silk, Super thick silk, Covered silk yam and Thick and thin silk. High bulk silk is reeled by using two combination feed gears, that is, those are a upper feed gear shaped ordinary flat type gear and a lower feed gear shaped V character type gear. This occurs the mixture states that cocoon filaments length differs from little by little each other in a silk thread. Special flat silk is reeled as the state of the upper gear departing from the lower gear. The cocoon filaments spread on the lower gear and become to be flat shape. Combination yarn of high bulk silk and special flat silk is produced by moving the upper gear up and down intermittently by controller. The appearance of silk yarn shows repeatable state of high bulk and flat by turns. Super thick silk is reeled through kennel mechanism only, so this is very simple thread trace. Covered silk yarn is that the thick silk is covered by thin silk thread, natural fiber or artificial fiber with covering mechanism after kennel mechanism. Thick and thin silk is produced by cutting cocoon filaments by the electric heater right after picked up from cocoons. Cutting cycle is controlled periodically or randomly. The authors produced jackets, sweaters, shawls and so on by using these materials, those products show each specific characteristics on aspects of bulkiness, luster and texture.
