Preparation of End-H Fluoroacrylate Copolymer Emulsions and Application on Textile Finishing
By emulsion polymerization in the presence of potassium persulfate (KPS) as a water soluble initiator, two kinds of stable emulsions based on fluoroacrylate containing terminal hydrogen (end-H) and other comonomers were prepared. FTIR spectra verified that the emulsion polymerization was completed. The morphology of the composite particles was observed by TEM. The particle size and size distribution of composite latex particles were measured by the dynamic light scattering method. By testing water and oil repellency on three kinds of fabrics (cotton, polyester fabrics and silk fabrics) finished by the fluorocopolymer emulsions, the results of oil repellency were obviously improved, the grades are 70~130.
