Study on Air Purification Capability and Applications of the Bamboo Charcoal Fibers
The bamboo charcoal fiber is filled with honeycombed micro porous structures from the inside to the outside, which has greatly increased the specific surface area. The function of adsorption can improve the growth environment, which may vary the growing speed of the plants. In the paper, the budding and growing properties of four different types of plants were studied in the same outside conditions but different inside conditions. Those experiments were last for about two weeks. The experiments indicated that the growing speed of the plants surrounded by the bamboo charcoal fiber is obviously faster than the ordinary ones. Consequently, the bamboo charcoal fiber can purify the air quality. In order to exert the function of adsorption, the electrostatic flocking method is used to plant flocks of bamboo charcoal fibers on the plain fabrics.
