Aggregate Structure of Cotton Fiber Treated with Sodium Periodate
Sodium periodate was used to oxidize cellulose in this paper, and FTIR, XRD, XPS were used to analyze the aggregate structure of oxidized cellulose. It was found that cotton cellulose was oxidised to dialdehyde (DAC), and β-alkoxy fragmentation existed during oxidization. Along with oxidised degree deepening, the aldehyde, hemiacetal structure strengthened while that hydroxyl, hydrogen bond weekened. The crystallinity of oxidised cellulose increased in low oxidant concentration, and decreaed gradually with the oxidant concentration increasing.
