Development and Property Evaluation of Oxide Dispersion Casting Alloy by Dispersion Control of Nano-oxides Using Vortex Method
The fabrication of Oxide dispersion strengthened alloy (ODS) by vortex method is suitable for industrial production. To strengthen ODS effectively by dispersing oxide particles without solid solubility into a metal matrix represents a new generation of engineering materials. In addition, the smaller the size of the particle, the more efficient the strengthening of ODS, but as the wettability degenerates, agglutination occurs, making it difficult to disperse the particles. Generally, nano-sized oxide particles are considered very difficult to disperse. In this study, we choose to attempt the casting of ODS by dispersing nano- sized Y<,2>O<,3> into aluminum base by using vortex method.
