Virtual Reality 3D Dynamic Scene System on Linux Construction Based on Quaternion
Quaternion has great practical application value in mathematics, physics and computer graphics. This paper studies the use of quaternion in spherical linear interpolation and rotation in computer graphics based on the geometric model of quaternion. The method of using Mesa3D/OpenGL to realize visual simulation and real-time animation of 3D dynamic scene is presented and the keystone of exploiting virtual reality system using OpenGL based on quaternion is discussed. Some critical techniques of virtual reality system like dynamic environment modeling, real-time animation creation, utility system development tools and system integration are introduced. With these approaches, a virtual reality simulation system is developed and applied in the case study of tamping train.
