In the recent years we have witnessed a focus on interdisciplinary research mat combines mainly Biology with Computer Science and that has received the generic term of bioinformatics. This effort has led to important discoveries including the successful sequencing of the genomes of dozens of organisms and development of new bio-molecular tools and techniques.
