Biologically Inspired Models for Micro-and Nano-Systems Design
The talk will be divided into two distinct parts. The first part will refer to biologically inspired computational models that have been developed by Prof. Mazumders research group at the University of Michigan over the past several years in order to design architectures for self-healing VLSI and llano systems as well as to guide the electrical design automation (EDA) tools in optimizing VLSI layouts. The second part of the talk will outline the directions of research activities in biologically inspired computing (BIC) by briefly alluding to some research projects that are currently being funded by the Emerging Models and Technologies program of the US National Science Foundation.
