Application Feasibility of Functionalist Translation Theory in Bilingual Geo-landscape Interpretation System--an experimentation on Yuntaishan World Geopark
Through the introduction of functionalist translation theory, the author specifies that appropriate translation strategies shall be chosen by combining prospective objectives and functions of the target language. On the basis of a comparison between Chinese and English landscape description approaches, some major scenic spots in Yuntaishan World Geopark are selected as samples for functionalist translation and decomposition to try an experiment upon the application feasibility of functionalist translation theory in bilingual geo-landscape interpretation system.
