RESEARCH AND ESTIMATION OF BEARING CAPACITY OF THE EXISTING STONE ARCH BIRDGE

Stone arch is a basic kind of bridge adapted by urban and suburb road in china. These stone arch bridges are now decaying because of that the volume of transport are substantial increasing as well as loads of traffic way and lack of repaired, especially dehiscence of arch springer. On the basis of the investigation and survey of the achievement in scientific research, the compute model that can consider the theory of flat hinge arch and teamwork is advanced. The analysis and bridge experiment results are compared. The compute model are tested and verified, it states that bearing capacity (especially live loads) is increased because of teamwork and internal force distribution again. The estimation of structural ultimate bearing capability could not be scientific, safety and economical if the flat hinge and teamwork was ignored.
