ANALYSIS ON THE STATIC BEHAVIOR OF CABLE-STAYED SUSPENSION BRIDGES
This paper describes structural behaviour of a cable- stayed suspension bridge. The centre bridge is a compound bridge of cable-stayed suspension one with 4000m super-long-span. All loads are supported by three main cables and sub cables. The reasonability of cable-stayed suspension and suspension bridge models were analysed, the tower height and the ratio of stayed length to suspension length were discussed. Case study about the effects of cable-stayed bridge length, height and stiffness of main tower, junction type of suspension bridges and cable-stayed bridges on displacement were carried out. With the appropriate design of above parameters, the compound bridge can reduce horizontal displacement of main tower and vertical deflection in the central portion and can enhance resistance to partial loads.
