EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON BEARING CAPACITY OF STEEL PIPE PILE WITH CFT TIP

In this study, a new kind of doubled steel tubular pile for inner excavation method was proposed. Two pieces of bored steel tubular pile specimens and eight pieces of doubled steel tubular pile specimens were made and compression test was carried out. The main parameters of experiment are the end shape of steel tube, extension length of outer steel tube (OSTE length), steel tube with or without rib. According to the experimental results, the effect of parameters on the bearing capacity and plugging effect of doubled steel tubular piles was clearly analysed. As a result, doubled steel tubular piles have higher bearing capacity and better plugging effect than bored steel tubular piles.
