EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE BEHAVIOURS OF RC FILLED CIRCULAR STEEL TUBULAR BEAMS
In order to clarify the effect of experimental parameters (strength of concrete, width-thickness ratio, arrangement of reinforcing bars and ribs) on mechanical characteristics of RCFT (reinforced concrete filled steel tube) beams, bending test on circular beam specimens of hollow steel tube, CFT (concrete filled steel tube) and RCFT were carried out. According to the experimental results, it is understood that placing steel bar in filled concrete can effectively restrain the generation of bending cracks in elastic region, avoid the shear failure of filled concrete, and improve the bending bearing capacity and ductility of RCFY beams.
