STUDY ON SEISMIC RESPONSE OF REACTIVE POWDER CONCRETE AQUEDUCT

As an important part of lifeline engineering, conveyance aqueduct has the characteristics of both large transmission capacity and large structure scale. Upper load of conveyance aqueduct is much larger than that of bridge, so the seismic response is particularly conspicuous. Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is a super-high strength cement-based composite material with advanced mechanical property and superior physical property, so the thickness of structure can be decreased which makes the dead load of structure reduced effectively. In this paper, according to the applicable design codes for aqueduct, RPC body aqueduct and normal concrete body aqueduct with equal convey water ability are established by using finite element analysis software ANSYS. Considering satisfying requirements of strength and stabilization, the seismic responses of both RPC aqueduct and normal concrete aqueduct are carried out and compared by inputting four practical seismic waves. Some valuable results are acquired and some important references are provided for practical RPC aqueduct engineering application.
