EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE COLUMNS UNDER LOW-REVERSED CYCLIC LOADING
Reinforced concrete pipe columns with large size and thin wall sometimes are employed to obtain larger lateral stiffness and less structural self-weight. But it should be noted that the calculation formula of normal section bearing capacity provided by Code for design of concrete structures (GB 50010-2002) is still suitable for the pipe columns or not. To investigate the seismic performance of the columns, four 1/8 scale specimens with different axial compression ratio, thickness diameter ratio and reinforcement ratio are constructed and tested under low-cyclic reversed loading. The hysteretic curve and skeleton curve, the displacement ductility, the failure mode aye analyzed. The influencing factors on the seismic performance of reinforced concrete pipe columns are also discussed. The test results are compared with the calculation results to demonstrate the feasibility of the calculation formula specified in the code. At last a FEM analysis is done, and the results show good agreement with the test result.
