DESIGN OF LAMINAR SHEAR BOX WITH OPENINGS FOR SHAKING TABLE TEST AND EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION

This paper investigates design of a special laminar shear box for shaking table test of under ground structures. Technical details of the test box are first described. The performance of the test box was then evaluated using free-field soil shaking table test. The results demonstrate that the test box was well designed that both the direct and indirect boundary effects were minimized.
