AN INNOVATIVE MEASURING METHOD FOR SHRINKAGE CREEP OF EARLY-AGE CONCRETE BY RING TEST
Early age cracking of concrete has re-visited as an important issue all over the world in recent years. The ring test and uniaxial shrinkage test may provide qualitative information that enables different mixtures to be compared. A modified restrained shrinkage testing arrangement enables separation of creep stain from shrinkage by means of simuhaneous testing of twin specimens, one under restrained shrinkage, and the other under free shrinkage. Thus creep coefficient can be determined. An overview of ring test developed in recent years and mechanism of uniaxial tensile creep test are described in this paper at first. Then, an innovative testing arrangement based on ring test is outlined.
