A CASE STUDY OF CROWD EVACUATION IN CONSIDERATION OF REAL-TIME FIRE ENVIRONMENT EFFECT

In current performance-based fire protection design method, the fire spread and crowd evacuation are usually separately considered, which neglects the real-time influence of fire environment on the crowd evacuation. Obviously such kind of approach deviates far from the real situation. With the help of software CFAST and building EXODUS, the crowd evacuation aim at a subway station is simulated and analyzed. The results show that the real-time fire environment will reduce the mobility of crowd and result in retard of evacuation process and other unfavorable consequence. So it is necessary to considerate the real-time effect of fire environment on the crowd evacuation in the future fire protection design. This study is of practical importance for the fire safety assessment of buildings in emergency situations.
